Should You Bootstrap or Raise? A Founder's Honest Take
There's no universal right answer. But there are wrong answers — and they're usually about ego.

Every few weeks someone asks me whether they should raise money or bootstrap. The honest answer: it depends on what game you're playing.
Raise when:
- The market is a land grab and speed matters more than margins
- You need expensive infrastructure before revenue
- You're building for an exit, not a lifestyle
Bootstrap when:
- You want control more than you want speed
- The market rewards quality over quantity
- You're optimizing for sustainability
Both paths can lead to success. Neither makes you better than the other. Pick the one that fits your life, not your Twitter feed.
